Acceptable Use Policy

The Aldridge Company's Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") for Aldridge Internet Services is designed to help protect The Aldridge Company, Aldridge's clients and the Internet community in general from irresponsible or, in some cases, illegal activities.

Clients are expected to use the Internet with respect, courtesy, and responsibility, giving due regard to the rights of other Internet users. Clients are expected to use Aldridge Internet Services for legal purposes only. Common sense is the best guide as to what is considered acceptable use.

The Aldridge Company ("Aldridge") forbids the use of adult graphic content (softcore and/or hardcore), including, but not limited to, banners advertising any adult website(s), child pornography, and distribution of adult website passwords on any managed server, server co-located with Aldridge, or on any website(s) hosted on any of Aldridge's servers. A client whose account is found in violation of this policy may, at the discretion of Aldridge have its agreement(s) terminated without notice.

Using Aldridge Internet Services to host websites which promote activities that violate federal, state, local laws and/or violation of U.S. export restrictions is not allowed. This includes libel or defamation of character, invasion of privacy, tortuous interference, and export of technical or military data to prohibited countries. It also includes "warez" sites (freely distributing copyrighted software), sites promoting hacking and/or cracking software applications. A client is responsible for validating the integrity of the information and data he or she receives or transmits over the Internet.

Clients shall not (nor shall they permit or assist others) to abuse or fraudulently use services, including but not limited to the following:

  • Spamming - the sending of unsolicited e-mail, regardless of size or volume; to persons the sender does not know or have prior consent to send the message to. Using fictitious e-mail addresses such as @aldridge.com or @maxen.net or any domain name hosted with Aldridge is strictly forbidden. Spamming also includes sending unsolicited advertisements to numerous email addresses or newsgroups. A violation of this policy extends to clients who send unsolicited e-mail from a domain name not affiliated or hosted with but the mail message makes mention of a website hosted on a dedicated server with Aldridge. Providing access to download spamware or spam related programs is strictly prohibited.
    Additionally, clients may not offer e-mail lists available for download.

  • Trolling - the posting of outrageous messages to generate numerous responses.

  • Mailbombing - the sending of multiple messages without significant new content to the same user and/or subscribing someone else to a mailing list without that person's permission

  • Cross-posting articles to an excessive number of newsgroups, or

  • Hacking - Attempting without authorization to enter into a secured computer system.

  • Attempting unauthorized access, alteration, destruction, or any similar effort of or to any information of any Aldridge clients or end-users by any means or device.

All of the above and other activities which are malicious (e.g. viruses, trojans, worms), intend to circumvent authentication or security, interfere with or deny service to any user other than client's (e.g. denial of service attack), or disrupt Internet communication (e.g. packet spoofing, flood pings, port scans, forged routing information, etc.) are strictly forbidden.

Each client is responsible for the activities of its customer base or end-users and, by accepting service from Aldridge, is agreeing to ensure that its customers abide by this Policy. Complaints about customers or end-users of an Aldridge client will be forwarded to The Aldridge Company's hostmaster for action. If irresponsible or illegal activity continues, then the client's products and services may be subject to termination or other action as Aldridge deems appropriate without notice.

Aldridge reserves the right to determine what constitutes abuse of this policy. Aldridge will make a good-faith attempt to work with Client to cure violations. A client whose account(s) is found in violation, may, at the discretion of Aldridge, have its account(s) terminated without notice and is subject to a maximum $500 clean-up/disconnection fee. Additionally, Aldridge may contact the Software Piracy Association ("SPA") and release any information in connection with any illegal activities relating to software piracy on the client's account. Sites closed for violations of this policy may not be reinstated.

In summary, we ask that clients refrain from illegal activity and do not send unsolicited e-mail from any server located in our Network Operations. Furthermore, please do not provide access to download spam-related software, pornography, or bulk e-mail lists.

Aldridge may at any time, revise the Acceptable Use Policy with 10 days advanced notice given to clients. Renewal of an account with Aldridge constitutes acceptance of all modifications to the Policy. Any revisions to the Policy will be in effect upon renewal of the service term with Aldridge. Client understands that this Policy is only a portion of our service agreement.
