Network Security
Network security is a hot topic in today's networking environment. While network administrators currently have anti-virus and firewall solutions in place, these solutions offer limited capabilities of preventing many different network intrusions. These basic solutions attempt to reduce access to vulnerabilities, but do nothing to identify and eliminate vulnerable points in the network. The Aldridge Company offers Network Security Audits and Maintenance services that eliminate identify and eliminate any unauthorized network vulnerabilities.
The Aldridge Company Network Security Audit & Maintenance Process
- Device Discovery & Identification
- Intense all-level scan of network for all existing hosts.
- Identification of host-type, location, and authorization for existence on the network.
- Vulnerability Probe
- Scan each discovered host (IP addresses uncovered in the discovery phase) for open ports and current communication activity on the network.
- Review Vulnerabilities
- Validate each vulnerability to ensure no false positives are present.
- Eliminate Vulnerabilities
- Secure, patch, eliminate any device with a current vulnerability. This stage includes research of other way to accomplish the goals of the device in question without security vulnerabilities on the network.
- Add advance controls to access to the network and develop policies limiting which users do what on the network.
- Secure and authorized network access for applications, appliances, and firewalls.
- Setup a process for termination of idle users and forced password changes.
- Maintenance
- Perform regularly scheduled audits and scans to verify continued integrity of the entire contents of the network.
- Track network access and monitor changes made.
As you know, virus defense is a multi-step process; therefore as part of the completion and maintenance of the Network Security Audit, we would regularly perform basic audits (not the fully extensive initial audit) to be sure that the integrity of your network remains in-tact with any additions of appliances, computers, or servers.
